No. SiftSpace is proprietary, closed-source software. It is free to use, but the source code is not published or licensed for copying, modifying, or redistributing.

You don't need to sign in for core scanning and cleanup. A free SiftSpace account unlocks daily scheduled scans, Cleanup History, Security Check, and Mac Monitoring. Signing in never gives us your files: file names, paths, and cleanup results stay on your Mac. Optional product news is a separate, unticked choice and never changes the features you can use.

No. Safety is the whole point. SiftSpace never selects risky items for you, sorts everything into clear risk levels, and moves files to the Trash instead of deleting them. Before anything is removed you confirm in two steps: what and how much, then an acknowledgement that emptying the Trash is permanent.

No. Live application data, including Docker images, virtual-machine disks, databases and AI model files, is recognised and never treated as junk, even in the large-files view, because deleting it would break the app it belongs to. Your secrets (keychains, Mail, Messages, SSH and cloud keys) are walled off from cleanup too.

SiftSpace uses bundled YARA-X rules to flag selected suspicious behaviours in high-risk launch points and selected locations. A match is a signal to review, not a malware verdict. It is detection-only: nothing is deleted automatically.

A read-only 0–100 posture audit covering disk encryption (FileVault), the firewall, Gatekeeper, System Integrity Protection, automatic updates, the lock screen, sharing services and risky startup items, each with a one-tap jump to the exact setting. A deeper scan adds pending security updates, unsigned apps, setuid binaries and library-injection persistence.

Yes. The permission audit lists every app holding Camera, Microphone, Screen Recording, Accessibility or Full Disk Access, shows its real icon, and flags unsigned apps, the real spyware signal. It asks for Full Disk Access so it can read macOS's privacy database.

Your files never do. Scanning, cleanup, and the security audit run on your device; no file names, paths, or results are uploaded. Optional product analytics contain only limited app metadata, and you can turn them off. Optional sign-in unlocks account features. Product-news email is a separate opt-in for software made by Fahid Digital Ventures LLC; we do not sell your data or use file data, scan results, or analytics to target it.

Yes. Everything goes to the Trash, so you can restore it in Finder until you empty the bin. With a linked account, SiftSpace also keeps Cleanup History so you can review past cleanups inside the app. The uninstaller uses the same Trash-first safety model for apps and the files they leave behind.

SiftSpace is a native app for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or newer. Version 0.1.25 is signed and notarized by Apple under Team ID 89JM9KPQ78. Each release is verified before publication.

SiftSpace keeps scanning and cleanup local, shows you the items selected for review, defaults to the safe choice, and moves approved items to Finder Trash. It does not upload your file data or require a subscription to use the core product.
