Who is responsible

Fahid Digital Ventures LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. SiftSpace is one of our products. Contact us about privacy through our contact page.

The short version

SiftSpace processes files locally on your Mac. Your file contents, file names, paths, and scan or cleanup results never leave your device. You can use core scanning, cleanup, recovery from Finder Trash, and standard updates without an account. An optional Google or GitHub account unlocks Cleanup History, Security Check, Mac Monitoring, and daily scheduled scans.

What the app does on your device

To find reclaimable space, SiftSpace inspects file metadata (sizes, dates, paths) and, for duplicate detection, computes content hashes of candidate files. All of this processing is performed locally by the app and is held in a local database on your Mac so repeat scans are faster. You can clear that data at any time by removing the app's support folder.

Account data and deletion

Signing in with Google or GitHub is optional. When you do, the provider gives us your verified email address, provider account identifier, display name, and avatar URL. We store those details to provide account-only SiftSpace features and support. We may also store a one-way hash of a random app install ID when it is linked during sign-in; it is not derived from your hardware or file data.

We retain account data while your account is active. You can delete your account in SiftSpace Settings. Deletion removes the account, OAuth sign-in records, linked-device records, and product-news preference from our service and invalidates existing account sessions. Local scan and cleanup history is not uploaded and remains on your Mac unless you remove it separately.

Product analytics

SiftSpace sends limited, content-free product analytics by default and discloses this on first launch: app version, processor architecture, macOS major version, update events, and a two-letter country inferred at the network edge. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings without losing SiftSpace features; turning them off discards pending analytics in the app, and an earlier "turn off" choice is always respected.

Analytics never include file names, paths, file contents, scan results, cleanup results, precise location, raw IP address, or browsing history. Raw analytics events are retained for up to 30 days and aggregate reporting for up to 90 days. When you are signed in, eligible high-level activity can be linked to your account for account support and product operations; it is never used to target product-news emails.

To count product milestones, our servers may also mirror a pseudonymous, content-free counter (for example "an install happened" or "an account was created", with app version and coarse country) to Google Analytics, which acts as our measurement processor. This mirror carries no email address, name, file data, or raw device identifier, and Google is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.

Optional product news from our company

We may send occasional product news and offers about SiftSpace and other software made by Fahid Digital Ventures LLC only if you actively opt in. This choice is separate from signing in, unticked by default, and does not affect SiftSpace features. You can change it in Settings or unsubscribe from an email at any time.

We do not use your files, file names, paths, scan results, cleanup results, contacts, or product analytics to target those messages. If a future product or message falls outside this scope, we will ask for a new choice.

No sale or independent advertising use

We do not sell, rent, or disclose personal data to another company for its own advertising or marketing. We do not use advertising pixels, sell customer lists, upload customer emails to advertising audiences, or create lookalike audiences from SiftSpace data.

We use service providers that process limited data on our behalf, including Cloudflare for hosting and edge delivery and Google or GitHub when you choose those sign-in providers. They are not permitted to use this data for their own marketing. These providers may process data outside your country; where required, we use the safeguards applicable to those transfers.

This website

This marketing site and download service use Cloudflare to deliver content securely. Cloudflare may process technical request data, including IP address and user agent, to deliver the service and prevent abuse.

The website (siftspace.app only, never the app) uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic, such as page views and download-button clicks. Google acts as our measurement processor and is not permitted to use this data for its own advertising. We do not set advertising cookies. Downloads & updates

When you download SiftSpace, your browser requests the installer from our content delivery network, which records standard server logs. The app may check for new versions; those checks transmit only the information needed to compare versions and never include file data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data. You can withdraw optional analytics or product-news consent at any time in SiftSpace Settings. To make another privacy request, use our contact page. We may need to verify the request before responding.

Children

SiftSpace is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will update this page before making a material new use of personal data and reflect the change with a new “last updated” date.
